A letter

Dear Self,
Hello, self. I would ask you how you are doing but I already know the answer. You are feeling that life's burdens are too much to bear. You feel the weight of the world on your shoulders. You feel like the fool, a big fool, complete with clown shoes and a big red nose (which comes from an insane amount of crying). You feel stuck, sad and overwhelmed. You feel under-prepared. And you feel hungry.
I just want you to know self, that you are not alone in this. You have people that surround you that love you and think you are great. While they may want to strangle you when you are acting all crazy they still love you. All of you, bat-flappers, dark circles and frizz included.
But what doesn't love you, is food. Food really isn't your friend. Food is incapable of love, because it is food you dork! Food is fuel for your body, not fuel for your soul. Food may make you feel better in the short-term but in the long-term it makes you feel worse. Every morsel you put in your mouth is energy your body needs to burn. You know this. You know how it works and yet you binge and binge and never look back. Food is your burden and it has made you heavy. Not only heavy in body but heavy in your heart. You have an unhealthy relationship with food and something needs to change.
Dearest self. I want you to learn to love yourself. Embrace who you are, accept the things you can't change and change the things you can. It's not going to be easy. Or fun. It's going to be painful and that's OK because in all honesty, things are not fun now. Things are already painful and if you are going to be in pain, dear self, make it a pain worth having. Accept happiness and love. Accept good wishes and thoughts. Accept a new life. Life is short, dear self, too short to waste.
                                                                                                                      Best wishes and love,
                                                                                                                                     Me
